I think it's easy to say that art inspires art and all creative ideas have their grounding in something that already exists. Maybe yes, maybe no...regardless, I was feeling a bit bi-polar one day while discussing with a client the difference between taking 'inspiration' and straight out copying someone else's art. This is how I felt.
